Federal republic of germany: You lot dictate the form of the state of war, so if you want something different then shake upwards the starting weather and y'all can fight wherever y'all desire, when you want.
Us: If yous want a simple game and a naval war, gear up United kingdom to monarchist and you'll get a naval war with the Axis that's actually interesting, and again dictate the pace of the fighting yourself. Too many naval enemies, and the land war might be impossible, too few and its too easy.
France: If Federal republic of germany'due south as well easy, France is a amend-balanced game with a ton of political options. Democratic isn't really worth more than than a couple playthroughs due to the slog it takes to win, but switching ideology can change upwardly the game quite a scrap (particularly fascist, if Federal republic of germany doesn't attack yous then you take even more potential to bear on the course of the war than Federal republic of germany itself).
India: Set between Europe and Eastward Asia with a strong buffer against direct attacks and plenty of manpower, you lot have a good opportunity to intervene either in China against Japan, or to put together a marine force to take Italia and push into Europe. Do well enough, and it isn't hard to break gratis from Britain via warscore. Fascist/communist playthroughs aren't that interesting by comparison, though (at to the lowest degree in my feel).

Great britain: You can just fight everyone and every type of mechanic is available to y'all. You tin do naval battles, Africa/ME, slog through Asia and of class the European theater.
French republic: Fun defense early with some pick to exercise naval and Asian warfare.
Italy: Vanilla focus sucks obviously, merely Italy is a small Major and you get to be aggressive. Only thing I dislike nearly Italy is non much to practise in Asia.
Nihon: Italian republic merely in Asia.
USA: You're OP but if the war goes JUST correct you tin have a hard fourth dimension landing in Europe. Sadly it'south normally non that hard. :(

Probably Romania.

I recall being told back in the HoI3 days that they were 1 of the tie-breakers. Perfect for the beginner-friendly campaigns I played dorsum and so, every bit good for the chill campaigns I play now.

(EDIT) Oh, I missed the second question...

I'd like to become with the Poland shown in the DDs, seeing as that looks similar the ultimate chill campaign, while also providing plenty of diverseness for other types of campaigns. You tin buy colonies, have an offmap reactor and in that location are so many paths to go down. Some of which are really unique like the 1 where you submit to Germany in return for potential future gains (Czechoslovakia also has i, but the polish ane looks far more than flavourful).

However, in terms of nations in the game at present it's tougher.

I'd outset similar to requite an honourable mention to the generic tree, which has an unparallelled versatility.

Aside from that I similar the sheer diverseness in trees like the British, equally well as ones like the Romanian where a unmarried co-operative (puppet the balkans) provides a really stiff and somewhat focused experience.

1. What is your favorite and/or well-nigh played country? Why?

Italia. I like to be the underdog and I'thousand Italian.

2. Which country practise you believe has the funniest focus tree, if it is different from the above answer?

The British focus tree. I think it has everything a focus tree needs to be fun: multiple policy scenarios and well-balanced industrial and military branches.

1. Great britain. I observe this nation in many ways to exist the most challenging since you lot sort of need to pay careful attending to all iii branches of your armed forces (Us also but I adopt UK focuses and alternate scenarios). Additionally, equally a Canadian I come up from mostly British descent and many of my relatives were very pro British.

2. Soviet Union. In many ways USSR is a breezy playthrough. Most if not all of your attention will be focused on Germany unless I play ahistorical. The ground forces is large but not too difficult to manage and I'm never also corking to seriously play its navy. Also, along with my mostly British descent we have some Ukrainian and Russian in the family.

3. Germany. Just super fun to romp stomp Europe and then eventually the world.

4. Romania. Favourite balkan nation to play with almost fun playthroughs, though Bulgaria and Greece since BftB has been challenging Romania'southward position on my list.

5. China. Specifically Nationalist Mainland china. Oh male child, I retrieve my first few playthroughs and their absolute failures, but oddly plenty, I think I tin can attribute my playing China as the greatest teacher to learning this game.

6. France. LaR really helped me to capeesh this nation. I consider myself a WW2 buff and at large a history buff because my Dad had me obsessed with learning about the Napoleonic wars. Though he was obsessively focused on the victories of Lord Nelson and Wellington, it encouraged me to larn more than about why the French were such a potent opponent. It's very fun to play this nation historical or non historical, either way though it can be a real challenge.

For SP, Frg, the United kingdom, and Japan. I like being in a position to lead the war effort, and they are the countries that have the nearly replay value to improve and try dissimilar builds and strategies.

For MP, it's the reverse. I don't really enjoy playing majors likewise much because you can never relax. Y'all get all the blame when things go incorrect, and none of the credit for when things go right. I personally bask Romania, Southward Africa, and other countries that can make specialized divisions and use them in unexpected means to impact the war. Merely at the aforementioned time y'all're not as of import and if yous misplay somewhere it probable doesn't matter very much.

Germany. The almost challenging major to play, in my experience. You get to roll over countries with the Blitzkrieg and accept on progressively stronger enemies, and the race to conquer as much of Europe as I can (for example Yugoslavia and Greece) earlier taking on the USSR is an interesting claiming. This, and the abiding risk of invasion from the Allies ways yous really get the experience of building a swell empire and having to defend it from exterior threats.

The Soviet Union. I honey the experience of facing off against a far more powerful invasion force, for then to gradually halt their advance and eventually drive them from my land, especially on higher difficulty levels.

Bully United kingdom. Ships and navies. Also, I like the feeling of existence a major, but at the same time not really feeling that powerful, because I demand to distribute my forces all over the globe.

Norway. Because Norway. Oh, and because trying to fend off the Axis invasion can be quite the challenge.

Some minor I've never played before, especially when they've gotten a focus tree. Mexico was surprisingly fun, for example.
